The Coffee Guy

Aman, The Coffee Guy for Lower hutt

The Coffee Guy first popped the boot to deliver piping hot, delicious espresso direct to customers in June 2005. Since then, we’ve been keeping the coffee coming to people all over New Zealand. We provide coffee to commuters at our drive-thru locations, we deliver it to workplaces and we provide coffee at events.
Picture
The popularity of The Coffee Guy amongst coffee drinkers was matched only by the enthusiasm of keen Kiwis wanting to ditch their nine-to-five in search of a lifestyle change and a business opportunity that stacks up. Today, we have over 50 franchises from Kawakawa to Dunedin. Our low-investment low-risk franchise opportunity continues to be popular so we’re regularly establishing new franchises.

Meet Liz from red glove style

I am Liz O'Brien and I have been an amateur artist for more than 20 years. I am now selling more of my work and I have moved into up-cycling items that interest me. I have recently completed Project Remade where I produced 50 items in 100 days as a challenge to myself. A number of these items have sold which gives me the challenge of continuing to offer original art and up-cycled items to people who are interested.

I am an artist, up-cycler and artisan. I produce original artwork on canvas and paper, and I source items from landfill and op-shops to remake. These items include small pieces of furniture and discarded bowls and boxes. I also make small quilts for small children and other fabric items such as bags. My ethic in remaking is to reuse, creatively, discarded items rather than lose their history and functions.

Peyton Morete is  a 14-year-old singer-songwriter living on the Kapiti Coast. She has been performing regularly for the last four years in the Wellington and Manawatu area. As well as performing at many venues and music festivals she has won various awards. She has won Smokefree RockQuest Manawatu solo category for the last three years running. She also won the Wellington Super Star Talent Quest held in September. In December she won a spot in Def Jam NZ’s final performing for a talent scout from the States. Peyton performs mainly her own music which deals with lot of issues facing young people today. Her lyrics are very moving and mature for someone of her age. You can’t really put Peyton in a music genre category as her music is soulful, powerful and contemporary.
Her latest performance was her winning performance at SmokefreeRockQuest June 2nd.

Hi, I'm Peyton, and I am saving to go to Sweden with my Kapiti College Music group next year, a huge amount to save for.

The Faustians

The Faustians

A wellington trio with roots in West Virginia old-time, the Faustians' music ranges from tub-thumping hillbilly hoedown songs to dark and mesmerising originals, with edgy mountain-forged vocals and sizzling harmonies, driven down by banjo, guitar and double bass.
Picture
Helena carried a wealth of tradition with her when she moved back to NZ after spending 10 years in West Virginia learning the banjo. She formed the group Cotton Daisy Backstep and began playing traditional Appalachian Mountain music at cafes, folk clubs, fairs and square dances around Wellington. They were part of a resurgence of interest in roots Americana music in NZ. Amongst the Old-time songs they performed was an emerging number of originals. While Cotton Daisy still plays the traditional music, for Helena the original songs became increasingly urgent and a more focused conduit was needed.

The Faustians was formed when Helena met Philip in June 2016 and they started playing together at home. Philip set out to learn old-time guitar and Ruby was recruited from just down the road to join them with the bass and harmony vocals. An album is planned for the end of this year to be followed by a tour of NZ.

The Faustians will be playing at Wrought Christmas Makers' Market from 12-1pm, 23rd December. Come along and enjoy their music while you have a bite to eat from Outpawed's fundraiser cafe!

What we're about

WROUGHT is a new breed of #plasticbagfree makers' market, featuring local crafters and makers, performers, workshops, demonstrations, activities, and amazing food. We're on the lookout for makers with something different to offer, particularly metalwork, upcycled sculpture, woodwork, laser cut and CNC, things that are a bit more industrial art than standard 'crafts'. We're looking for stallholders in the Wellington region (or able to travel for our markets) who make their own stuff - the definition of 'make' being that they are the creative force behind the finished item, whether it be sewn, sculpted, 3D printed, drawn, or otherwise manufactured.
